 What will happen to a pinfish when taken away from its environment and is its place into a tank full of hermit crabs?

 The pinfish will act different when put in a tank of hermit crabs.

 Fish tanks  Fish nets  Filter  9 hermit crabs  2 pinfish  Temperature of the fish tanks

1. On one fish tank have all the pinfish in and the second fish tank should be the hermit crabs. 2. Test the temperature of the fish tanks. 3. Use a fish net to remove one pinfish and place it in the second tank with the hermit crabs. Observe the behavior of the pinfish for five minutes. Record your observation. 4. Remove the pinfish from the tank full of hermit crabs replace it in its original fish tank. Record observation. 5. Repeat step three again.

 In the original tank the pinfish were a light color and actively moving all over the fish tank.  When we remove the pinfish from its original tank and into the fish tank full of hermit crabs their stripes became darker, very little movement, and the hermit crabs cornered the pinfish.  When the pinfish was replaced into its original tank, its stripes became lighter and it very actively moving around.

 The pinfish don’t swim around as much as in their original tank and they seem to be cornered by the hermit crabs. The pinfish changes color when it is put into the tank full of hermit crabs.
