Alejandro Romay JUMEX GROUP

At JUMEX GROUP the preservation of the environment has been a fundamental subject in the agenda, the environmental care is our commitment, which we assume like an integral part of our operation. Our principal raw material is fruit that we use in order to produce our juices, nectars and beverages. That’s why in our business is very important to maintain the balance with the ground, water and climate.

OBJECTIVE Our goal is to help our suppliers to fortify their strategic and technical capacities developing echo-efficiency projects, being this tool for the improvement of the competitiveness.

Through this project we have been able to verify that the echo-efficiency is an administrative culture that serves as guide to all of us, assuming our social responsibility and it motivates us to adapt and to make appropiate the existing productive systems according with the needs of the market and the environment, then we can consolidate high levels of economic, social and environmental development.

The projects carried out by the participant suppliers include different subjects like: Changing raw materials Changes in technology and process Works focused in maintain order and cleanning Equipment maintenance Reusability and Recycling Analysis and re engineering services

Doing a comparison with the traditional practices, the participants obtain an integral design of technology in order to reduce the use of materials and energy consumption during production, besides impelling the reusability of inputs through processes technologically reconverted and recycling.

Obtained benefits of JUMEX GROUP and our suppliers, of these projects of echo-efficiency are: Reduction in cost production. Responsible use for the natural resources. Reduction in the emission of polluting agents. Competitiveness and innovation. Recycling and re-use of valuable materials. (plastics, glass, etc.). Greater reliability and better communication between clients and suppliers

In the execution of this project we have found that the companies did not need to move to a side their present practices and processes production to be echo-efficient, it was only necessary to readapt the existing productive systems to the needs of the market and the environment.

RESULTS OF JUMEX GROUP Main Activity: Manufacturing of Nutritional Beverages Employees: More than 4,000 Address: México City (Metropilitan Area). Participation as a leader:4 years ( ), with 5 groups. Suppliers: 52 and 1 of its own group of factories. Enabled People: 90 Developed Projects: 126

The results obtained by JUMEX are equivalent to:

WHAT´S OUR CHALLENGE? TO CONTINUE… JUMEX GROUP has participated in this program of “Environmental Leadership for the Competitiveness” for 4 years, and we are including it like an extra tool in our system of Environmental Management.
