The Journey for the Golden Carrot By: Windi Yockey

Quest “I will go find the Golden Carrot. ” stated Prince Roger. “Don’t be absurd, none of us rabbits are strong enough, let alone you. Just a young prince you are. ” said the most wise rabbit of the land, Grand Rabbit. “ I can do it. And I will. I will go threw the snake fields all the way till I get to the carrot castle. Where the Golden Carrot is to be found. It is my journey Grand Rabbit. I must go ! ” Grand Rabbit knew this was the Prince Rogers destiny to go.“And so you must young one. I cannot stop you. Be careful.”

Journey So the Prince is going to leave as soon as sun down. Thinking he will have a better chance to go threw the snake grassland. He was scared, but wasn’t going to give up. For the grasslands are the least of his worries. Right after the grasslands is Black Creek, a muddy creak which is home to sly hungry alligators. Lucky there is a bridge you can cross to get to the other side, But be careful because under the bridge is the meanest alligator there has ever been. Frankie Alligat’or. He eats everything that falls off the bridge. Once over the bridge comes the forest of all trees. Its called Forrest of All Trees, because every kind of tree grows in the forest. Pine trees, tall oak trees, blossom trees, and even toward the end of the forest there is said to be bamboo trees which brings us to the dead mountain.

The dead mountain is surrounded by bamboo trees and caves, but at the top of the mountain is the great castle of carrots. Which holds the Golden Carrot. The mountain is home to a great beast that guards the castle. Its been said that it is a Chinese bear, due to all the bamboo. The Vicious panda, Pand’erus. Knowing his quest, and the road ahead, the brave rabbit is off. He crawls threw the garden, saying good buy to everyone he passes. Most of the strong rabbits are out in the garden, cleaning up from the rats. Once Prince Roger reaches the end of the garden he pauses, takes a breath, and then starts forward. Off to the Snake grasslands.

Hero The Prince crawls cautiously threw the tall grass which seems to be getting thicker. He sees a movement to the left, he stops. He sees yellow snake eyes, like jewels, out of the corner of his left eye. He takes off right as the snake strikes and misses. Prince Roger hops so quick through the grassland as the grass gets thinner. Till finally he steps in mud. He has reached the Black Creek. He looks down the bay an sees the bridge. He walks along the dry mud as he sees all the alligators watching him from the creek. He finally reaches the bridge. He takes a deep breath and takes one step on the bridge. “Who are you?” Comes a voice from under the bridge. Out from under the bridge appears Frankie Alligat’or. He is huge, about 14 feet long. His sharp scales are dark green as is the rest of his body.

In a timid voice the prince spoke,“ I am Prince Roger. Prince of the rabbit colony of the gardens. I am headed to The castle of carrots.” Frankie never have seen a rabbit before. He thought to himself that this rabbit wouldn’t fill him up. It would be merely a tease. “You are a brave rabbit to take this journey. I will let you pass. Only because your not worth the kill to me.” With that Frankie turned around and trudged under the bridge. In amazement the rabbit hopped across the bridge till he reached the end and the Forest of All Trees.

Prince Roger, Shocked that he had made it so far already, crawled along the forest floor. He heard all sorts of sounds. Sounds he had never heard of before. He looked up and saw monkeys howling at each other. Half way threw the forest it got real quiet. The Prince knew something was wrong so he took shelter in a hole at the bottom of a great oak tree. From his hiding spot he watched the forest waiting. All of a sudden a Giant panther leaped from a near by tree on to an unexpected wild boar. Roger sat quietly as the panther carried his kill back up the tree. Hog in his jaws. Roger waited a few minutes and continued threw the forest.

Test After finally reaching the bottom of Dead Mountain, he looks up and sees the Great Castle of Carrots, home to the Golden Carrot. As his mouth started to water he snaps out of his daze. He remembered he's not there yet. He huddles down close to the ground and starts up the mountain. After each step he took he looked around ready to leap. After what felt like forever, he finally reached the castle.

Guardian Just as he takes his first step into the castle Pand’erus jumps out of nowhere. The rabbits were right, she was a beast. The panda took a step toward Roger, “What are you doing here puny bunny? You’re the youngest one Iv seen. Not much meat on your bones.” The Prince shivered, having no idea what to do. “My.. My village is starving. The rats came and destroyed our crops. They took everything. The soil was so greased up and oily we couldn’t possibly plant more this Fall. Please I need the Golden Carrot !”

Pand’erus laughed at the rabbit. “You really think I care about you little bunnies? I don’t care if you starve. Bunnies are not really first thing on the menu.” The rabbit, astonished at the pandas remarks, said,“But… you don’t even eat carrots. We need the food I cant go back with out the Golden Carrot.” “Well your not getting it. Rawer !” The great panda leaps toward the Rabbit.

Final Test The rabbit jumped and ran over the huge panda. And dove into the castle. Scampering quickly up the stairs. Feet slipping everywhere, because he is not familiar of the tile floors. He has only stood on dirt. The great panda furious for have missing charges into the castle behind the rabbit. The rabbit makes a right turn as the panda, foaming at the mouth, slides up the stairs and leaps for the rabbit. The panda misses and the rabbit sees the door to the Golden Carrot. He jumps with all of his might just barley missing the jaws or the Miss Pand’erus. The rabbit turns the knob and is in the door in no time. Sees the carrot and yanks it in his pocket, an out the window he goes.

The panda spots the rabbit and tramples out the castle following the rabbit soaring threw the air. All the way threw the All Tree Forest the panda followed. Till she reached the bridge and rushed past Frankie. Frankie was not happy, he himself charged after the panda. Leaping at her. Pand'erus was amazed at the alligator, but scared. She turned around and rushed under the alligator Frankie grabbed the panda and threw her back over the bridge. The panda opened her eyes and Jumped up and ran all the way back to her mountain.

Helpers Roger landed in the middle of the grasslands and without a breath the prince hoped with all of his might in to the gardens to Grand Rabbits Hole.” I have the Golden Carrot, Grand Rabbit! I did it. ” said the prince as he grabbed the carrot out from his fur pocket. “Here it is!” Roger handed the carrot to Grand Rabbit. With a tear in his eye, Grand Rabbit handed the carrot back to the prince. “You have saved this village. You endangered your life to help others. You have earned the right to plant the Golden Carrot.” Roger took the Golden Carrot and as everyone followed they emerged up from underground. The prince looked around at everyone and placed the Golden Carrot in the ground. As if a he had planted the sun a bright light busted from the ground. In a blink of an eye carrots popped up from every were. The soil was moist and the best it had ever been. The carrots were huge. The rabbits cheered the Prince. And the Prince lived happily ever after.
