HYPOTHESIS AND VARIABLES PRACTICE A Review

Write a Hypothesis for the following question: Does feeding bears in the woods cause more or less people to be attacked by bears?

Write a Hypothesis for the following question: Does playing violent video games cause people to act more aggressively?

Write a Hypothesis for the following question: Do cities with recycling programs put less trash in the city dump?

For each hypothesis write: -Is it in the correct or incorrect format? -If it is incorrect, what is wrong with it? If you drink coffee in the morning, then you are more likely to stay awake in class.

For each hypothesis write: -Is it in the correct or incorrect format? -If it is incorrect, what is wrong with it? Watering your garden causes it to attract more slugs because the slugs like healthy green plants.

For each hypothesis write: -Is it in the correct or incorrect format? -If it is incorrect, what is wrong with it? Yes, the spider will build a bigger web because flies are more common in a barn.

For each hypothesis write: -Is it in the correct or incorrect format? -If it is incorrect, what is wrong with it? If you water a plant daily, then it will grow taller because watering plants makes them taller.

For each hypothesis write: -Is it in the correct or incorrect format? -If it is incorrect, what is wrong with it? Bringing more wolves to the forest will cause the rabbit population to change, because wolves eat rabbits.

For each hypothesis: -identify the manipulated, responding, and 3 control variables If a student sleeps more than 8 hours during the night before a test, then he/she will score a higher grade on the test because they will be more rested and alert.

For each hypothesis: -identify the manipulated, responding, and 3 control variables If a barnacle is fed in the dark, then it will feed faster because barnacles are used to the darkness below the ocean surface.

For each hypothesis: -identify the manipulated, responding, and 3 control variables If a student goes to advisory to get help, then they will earn a better grade in Biology because they will get clearer feedback and more attention from the teacher than they would in class.
