Eco Friendly Houses

Objective Students will demonstrate their knowledge of eco-friendly house construction by writing a report about one house that uses eco-friendly elements in its design.

Standards (Science) Engineers, architects, and others who engage in design and technology use scientific knowledge to solve practical problems. They also usually have to take human values and limitations into account. 3A/M3 AASL Consider diverse and global perspectives in drawing conclusions.

Vocabulary Ecology Eco-friendly traditional Non-traditional

Rubric 41 I listed the name of my house. I told what the house was made of. I explained why it was good to use this type of material. I explained whether or not this house was practical to build, with proof or reasoning. I explained why people would or would not want to live in this type of house. I included a sketch or photo of my house in the report. I sent my report to the instructor

Hook No matter what type of housing protects you from the weather, you need heat, electricity, and water. These resources cost money. The more you use, the more you pay. These resources cause pollution. The more you use, the more pollute. What if you could build a house that cut down on pollution and saved you money? Today we will explore some non-traditional house that do just that!
