HOW TO GIVE AN EXCELLENT PRESENTATION OR SPEECH

“90 % of how well the talk will go is determined before the speaker steps on the platform.” -Somers White (Professional Speaker) 1.Know your goal – what is your message? 2.Focus on your audience 3.Prepare 4.Add feeling – get yourself to care about your message 5.Get yourself into a good state of mind

1. It All Begins With A Goal Before you start anything, know the WHY! Ask yourself the following questions and write down your answers: How do I want to feel after I finish this presentation? How do I want the audience to feel after I finish? What do I want the audience to remember?

2. Focus On Your Audience If you focus on your audience, you will forget yourself. If you forget yourself, you will lose your fear and shyness. Your audience will decide the value of your presentation To focus on your audience, ask yourself again and again: How can I do this so that I achieve my goals? How can I do this so that my audience feels what I want them to feel? How can I do this so that my audience remembers what I want them to remember?

3. The Foundation of A Good Presentation: Preparation This one is simple: If you prepare, you greatly increase your chance of success. If you don’t prepare, you greatly increase your chance of failure. If you don’t take the time, you have chosen to fail. Being ready is the best way to succeed.

4. Feeling “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” - Maya Angelou (Poet)

4. Feeling is Everything No matter what the topic is, find a way to be enthusiastic about it Your audience will feel you! You must be self-igniting: Dig into the information deeper to activate enthusiasm Life up yourself: add energy to your smile, your movements, your body, your gestures, your eyes, your voice.

Your State of Mind Before your presentation, your body, thoughts and mood will affect everything about your presentation Make yourself powerful, strong, excited and confident Stand, sit and move like a person who gives great presentations. Imitate those who are the best. If you have trouble, fake it! Fake it until you become it!
