UNIT 1 VOCABULARY

STEP 1: DEFINING TERMS Using your resources (dictionaries and smart phones) divide up the terms within your group. Your definitions should be very thorough.

BELLWORK: PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR VOCAB WORK FROM YESTERDAY STEP 2: SIMPLIFYING DEFINITIONS With your groups, re-read through the definitions. Discuss each term and condense the definition into ten words or less. You will really have to think about the definition and only include essential information. Copy these abbreviated definitions into your graphic organizers.

STEP 3: MAKING CONNECTIONS Using your original and abbreviated definitions, include an image/illustration that will help you to remember the meaning of each vocabulary term.

STEP 4: EXTENSION With your group, write a mini-story (one paragraph) that includes all of the vocabulary terms.
