M ORE ABOUT THE ARTIST …  As a child, he liked to watch birds. He felt that helped him develop his sense of shape in natural objects.  As a child and teenager, he was often alone.  He had a stutter until he was in his 20s.  He was in the military in the 1940s during WWII.  He lived in Paris for six years before returning to America.
