Presentation transcript:

Sam Reuther 31 million people have gotten into a car and drove drunk.

 Nearly one in eight drivers from the ages 16 and older has driven drunk  In 2006 and 2007 a study shows ages has a higher percent of BAC.08 or higher than the other ages  “Drivers list behind-the-wheel behavior they say is hazardous-and admit they do it.”

 Banning smoking from places increases drunk driving  In Ottawa, Canada nearly 1,200 people are killed in car crashes from drunk driving  “An estimate 30.6 million people drove under the influence of alcohol in the past year, and more than 4% drove under the influence of illicit drugs.”

 “NHTSA and the automobile industry are spending $10 million on a five-year research project that could lead to ignition interlocks in every new car”  “We can be pleasantly surprised that the numbers are going down,” says Peter Delany, director of the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality. “That doesn’t mean there great, but the numbers are going in the right direction.”

 What I’ve learned about my topic is that banning smoking increases drunk driving. Another thing is I didn’t know that 31 million people have decided to get in a car and drive drunk.
