DATES: We went on the 28 th April from school and came back on the 2 nd May. WHO? The teaches who came with us are: Mrs Best, Mrs Paxton, Mr Burgess, Mr Protherough, Mrs Bletchley, Mrs Atkins and Mr Hewins.

WHERE? Stackpole is in Pembrokeshire which is in Wales. WHAT? Stackpole is an eco centre. This provides people to explore with professionals the rest of Stackpole e.g.: Broad haven beach, Stackpole head, Barafundle beach and church rock/bunny rock.

THE JOURNEY The journey was around 6 hrs long so very tiring. The bus driver put on Heart FM so the journey wasn’t quiet at all. On the journey to Stackpole we saw many different things like: sheep, castle on a hill and boats. WHY? We went on this trip to get the John Muir award and have lots and lots of fun!

A fact from Stackpole is that the national trust own Stackpole. The national trust actually bought the land from the Campbell's of Cawdor. Stackpole came to be by the Campbell's of Cawdor. They lived in their manor that was over looking the manmade lake. They had to knock the manor down because the Campbell's didn’t have enough money to keep the manor running.

There are four things to get your John Muir award, these are discovering, exploring, conserving and sharing. This award is named after him because he strongly believed in looking after wildlife and wild places in the area.

In conserving, we have been pulling out pheasants berries and brambles. The pheasant berries are non- indigenous and the brambles are indigenous. Lords and ladies are a type of plant that has tube in the middle. they are bi-annual which means that they only grow twice a year.

At Stackpole, in the evenings we did different activities such as the NIGHT LINE!!! The night line is when you are blind folded and had to follow a rope around some trees, but of course we banged into some! We had to hold each other on are shoulders to get across the hill to the start of the night line.

In canoeing we were in a group of three and had to canoe around the lake. Also Mr Protherough, Jake and Anthony capsized!
