Selecting Your Courses in

Endorsements Options STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Math) - Examples include: Engineering, Computer Science, Advanced Math, Advanced Science Business & Industry – Examples include: Arts, Audio- Visual and Communications, Business Management, Culinary Arts, Automotive Technology,Newspaper Arts & Humanities – Examples include: Visual and Performing Arts, LOTE, Social Studies Electives Public Service – Examples include, JROTC, Health Sciences, Education and Training, Cosmetology Multidisciplinary Studies – Examples include: Advanced Core and Advanced Endorsement Electives

On the AISD homepage click on Quicklinks on the left side of the page and find Naviance.

Next find your High School link and click on it

Take Career Pathway Survey: Click on about me tab. Under surveys to take select career pathway

Home Page of Family Connection: Click on Courses Tab

Click on Manage My Course Plans

Click on Add a New Plan

Click on Create New Draft Plan

Select a Plan of Study by clicking Choose This One ( Make sure to select the plan specific to the endorsement that you have decided to pursue)

Modify Courses page will open:

Click on each subject area for that requirement and select course(s) you want to take next school year by clicking in the box next to the course name

Click Add Selected Courses to Your Draft Plan at the bottom of the screen

Select the grade level for the course and click ok

Click on 3. Review & Finalize at the top of the page

Click on View by Grade Level Make sure that the plan for the next school year has 8 credits and includes the four core academic courses (English, Math, Science, & Social Studies) Click on View by Grade Level

To make corrections click on 2.modify courses

Congratulations! You have just completed your course selections for ninth grade. This is the first step in planning for a successful high school experience.

Students and Parents can make changes in Naviance until March 4th

Turn in your completed Austin ISD Endorsement Declaration/Four year Plan to your 8 th grade counselor.
