AIM: What are Double Line Graphs?

Plant 1 received Nitrogen Fertilizer REMEMBER WHEN we had two plants Plant 1 received Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant 2 received none

Plant #1 has the fertilizer Grew to height of 2 inches on day 2 4 inches on day 5 8 inches on day 10 10 inches on day 15 14 inches on day 20

Plant #2 has NO fertilizer Grew to height of 2 inches on day 2 4 inches on day 5 7 inches on day 10 8 inches on day 15 9 inches on day 20

What is Predicting? Which plant grew better? How could we analyze our Data? Would setting up a LINE GRAPH be useful in our analysis? What do we do first?

Plant 2 No fertilizer Plant #1 Has fertilizer Grew to height of 2 inches on day 2 4 inches on day 5 8 inches on day 10 10 inches on day 15 14 inches on day 20 Grew to height of 2 inches on day 2 4 inches on day 5 7 inches on day 10 8 inches on day 15 9 inches on day 20 You make the data table!

Table of Plant Days vs. Plant Height: Plant 1 Plant 2 2 2 4 4 8 7 10 8 14 9 Day of Growth 2 5 10 15 20

What is Predicting? Lets GRAPH THIS!

Step ONE: Draw your Axis Y-axis X-axis

Step TWO: Label Your X Axis: Y-axis Label the Days ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis

Step Three: Now Label Your Y Axis: 16 14 12 10 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis X-axis

Step Four: Now Plot Your Points Y-axis 16 14 12 10 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis

Step FIVE: Now Draw Your Line Y-axis 16 14 12 10 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis

Step FIVE: Now Draw Your Line Don’t forget to label your line! Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis

WAIT! What about plant #2?

Step FIVE: Now Draw Your Line NOW REPEAT FOR PLANT #2 !! Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis

PLANT #2: Plot your Points Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant Height in inches 8 6 Points for Plant #2 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis

Line for Plant #2 PLANT #2: Draw Your Line Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant Height in inches 8 6 Line for Plant #2 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis

Label Plant #2 PLANT #2: Draw Your Line Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis

Plant Height for one Plant with Fertilizer, and One Plant Without Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant #2 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis LASTLY: TITLE YOUR GRAPH

Days of Plant Growth vs. Plant Height for Two Plants Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant #2 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis Alternative Title for the Graph

(X vs Y): Days of Growth Vs. Plant Height Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant #2 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days X-axis Alternative Title for the Graph

What would the plant height be of plant 2 on day 7 What is Predicting? Based upon YOUR graph What would the plant height be of plant 2 on day 7

(X vs Y): Days of Growth Vs. Plant Height Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant #2 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days 6 inches Plant 2 Height on Day 7?

What would be the plant height of plant 1 on day 14 What is Predicting? Based upon YOUR graph What would be the plant height of plant 1 on day 14

(X vs Y): Days of Growth Vs. Plant Height Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant #2 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days =10 inches Plant #1 Height on Day 14?

What is Predicting? Based upon YOUR graph What would be the plant height of plant #1 on day 23? How did you figure that out?

(X vs Y): Days of Growth Vs. Plant Height Y-axis 16 14 Plant #1 12 10 Plant #2 Plant Height in inches 8 6 4 2 ` 5 10 15 20 25 Days =16 inches Plant #1 Height on Day 23?

What is Predicting? Interpolate To estimate a value between two known values.
