Indian Group (1845) Charles Deas Amon Carter Museum of American Art I see 6 native Americans in this picture. The first thing I notice is the lady that is tying her shoe. I noticed it first because she was wearing bright colors. There are 3 horses shown in the picture. In the background, there are people on the hill looking down on the native Americans in the foreground. I think the physical setting of this is in the afternoon in the spring time. I think this image was made because the painter wanted to portray how the native Americans were. In the image, there is one man on a horse, on woman tying her shoe, a child looking at the horse, a man holding a spear and an old man holding a long object. If this was made today, the native americans would be wearing different clothes and holding different objects. They would still ride horses Who are those people in the background What are the people in the background doing When was this taken place Where was this taken at Why is the man holding a spear How did they make their own clothes and weapons?
