Year 4 Residential 7 th – 8 th May 2013

An adventure and activity centre based in Storeton Lane, Barnston. Set in 15 acres of countryside. Only 20 minutes away from school. PTA have offered to pay for coaches.

Accommodation

Children will sleep in rooms of All rooms have en-suite facilities. Staff will also sleep in the cabins. There are safety doors on each end of the cabin that will be locked for security at night. Each cabin has a large communal area upstairs for evening activities and supper. Bedding – bring a sheet or sleeping bag. Pillows and duvets are provided.

Dining Large communal dining room – we can all eat together Children will be given a choice of meals Children will be involved in the setting up of the dining hall and washing the dishes! Tuck shop - £3 max There may be an opportunity for a BBQ – weather permitting.

Children should bring a packed lunch for Tuesday lunch time. Tuesday Evening – hot meal is provided Wednesday Morning – choice of cooked breakfast/cereal Wednesday lunchtime – lunch is provided Fussy eaters will not go hungry! Dining

Activities Children will rotate around activities led by qualified centre staff and activities led by St George’s staff. Children will be put into groups and will follow a timetable to ensure they all get a fair share. However some activities may differ. All centre staff are qualified and CRB checked.

Climbing There is an indoor and outdoor climbing wall

Abseiling Barnstondale has a purpose built abseiling tower.

Activites Problem Solving Orienteering Outdoor Art Sports such as basketball, football, badminton and volleyball Science Activities

Evening Activities St George’s staff will provide evening entertainment. This may include: disco, bingo, sports, games and possibly a camp fire/bbq.

What to bring See the provided kit list Remember to look at weather forecast beforehand. No phones or electronic devices. Soft toy is acceptable. A book or magazine to read.

Costs £20 deposit should have been paid already. The remaining balance (£40) is due by 26 th April All payments should be paid via ParentPay
