Elizabethan England Women’s fashion The Elizabethan age brought a great development of culture in 16 th century England. Fashion was a way of expressing oneself. Women had very long dresses with a high collar.They did everything to make their waists small.

Women also wore ruffles as social symbols..

In Elizabethan times, women’s fashion had a new style for sleeves in gowns. They became puffy.

Men’s fashion Men wore tights, jerkins – shirts with square shoulders and buttons. The sleeves often had decorations. Men also wore leather shoes, they had beaver hats and short gloves.
