Clara Barton oClara Barton was born in 1821 in North Oxford, Massachusetts!

Early Part of Clara Barton’s Life… As a young child Clara Barton was very shy. When she became older she became less and less shy. She taught school from Then her job was taken by a man just because she was a woman.

Barton during the Civil War-- During the civil war Clara Barton was the first female nurse. She helped injured men that came off the battlefield. She was later known as “The Angel of the Battlefield!”

Things that Barton Did. Clara Barton did more than just help the injured and wounded. She also help many more people. Barton always wanted to help people when she was older! By Cooking Cutting up sheets as towels She also talked to the senator Henry Wilson of Massachusetts and sent out newspapers and people sent huge amounts of supplys.

After The War! Clara Barton was appointed to the superintendent of nurses at the Army of James in She made a business for missing men, she found more than 12,000 graves.

Rest Time… In 1869 she went to take a course in the red cross. Barton took part in activities during battle front in the Franco- Prussian War! She returned home in Clara Barton died in 1912.
