Two ways to address this topic: Logical problem of evil Emotional problem of evil What is the problem of EVIL!

The Argument: Premises 1.God is all-powerful 2.God is good 3.An all-powerful, good God would not allow evil to exist 4.Evil exists Conclusions Therefore God does not exist The Logical Problem

Generally based off of personal experiences. Usually argument involves: I cannot believe in a God who would allow XXX bad thing to happen, or bad things in general to happen. More common The Emotional Problem

Depends on the person and the circumstances No cookie cutter way to deal with this one since people are different and the situations involved will be different. The Emotional Problem

Natural Evil: Disease, natural disasters, accidents etc Moral Evil: The evil we inflict on one another. Types of Evil

What are different ways have you heard people formulate the problem of evil? How might you respond to the logical problem? How might you respond to the emotional problem? What type of response is most appropriate for the two types of evil? How explain natural evil? How explain moral evil? Why might God allow evil? Let’s talk about it
