Basic issues on NS (nutrition) Nutrition has been marginalized by policy makers There’s limited advocacy and awareness to educate key stakeholders Limited capacity for NS

Long term consideration (Uganda case) Capacity building/ improvement: National to community level (review training needs in data collection and analysis) Advocacy thru’ national conference & lobbying –To raise awareness and increase demand for nutrition information to policy makers –Seek political commitment –Annual budgetary allocations for NS support –Inclusion of specific nutrition indicators in HIMS Review information needs of the country Resources for capacity building & for undertaking & supporting NS (+ tech expertise)
