“It’s powerful that these two organizations with such long histories of working in education can come together to create a unique partnership that will benefit both students and teachers”.

Caroline Weeks Global Schools Support Specialist VIF International Education

In the first A+ Schools professional development module in VIF’s Learning Center, teachers will explore how to inspire global inquiry by introducing various art forms - dance, drama, music and visual arts - and how art’s common vocabulary provides a basis for global learning. This challenges educators to discover how the arts can enhance global learning in their classrooms. Upon completion of the module, teachers will earn the Global Arts digital badge, which can be shared with principals, colleagues and peers around the world through online portfolios.

Module 2- Investigating Engaging Students with Global Arts Badge: Arts Engager Ask: How can we use the arts to learn about other cultures? What can we learn about other cultures by looking at, experiencing, and/or exploring the arts that we wouldn’t learn otherwise?

Module 3- Connecting Arts Literacy for a Global World Badge: Arts Connector Ask: How do the arts enhance student’s understanding of global culture? How do people around the world communicate through the arts?

Module 4- Integrating Global Collaboration Through the Arts Badge: Arts Collaborator Ask: How can we connect artistically to explore our cultures collaboratively?
