Presenter = Miss Nur Syaza Izzati binti Mohd Rafei

HCI is study of people, computer technology and the ways these influence each other. We study HCI to determine how we can make this computer technology more usable by people

 Daily Life ATM machines, train ticket, vending machines, and hot drinks dispensing machines

 Business and Industry For business operation ensure that staff are not frustrated during their work and as a result are more content and productive. design of safety critical systems, such as, for example, those found in power plants, or air traffic control centers. Design errors in these situations can have serious results, possibly resulting in the death of many people.

Accessibility designing systems that are not only usable, but also accessible to people with disabilities. The core philosophy of HCI is to provide safe, usable, and efficient systems to everyone, and this includes those with different sets of abilities and different ranges of expertise and knowledge.

Presenter : Miss Noor Aisyah Nadiah binti Noriezan

User interfaceHuman Computer interaction Part of computer application or operating system which involve direct user interaction with the system Study on the interactions between human users and computer system The way a person interacts with a computer, tablet, smartphone or other electronic device Understanding and creating software and other technology that people will want to use, will be able to use and will find effective when used

Presenter : Mr Muhammad Izzat Farhan bin Baharudin

Sophisticated electronic computation machine before World War II (WW2) designed for solving equation or breaking code. Expensive cryptography machines design to attack a specific encryption device.

British VS The Nazi

War-time improvement technologies such vacuum tubes had brought human computer interaction (HCI) to foreground. This continue to development of ENIAC, the first general purpose computer.

ENIAC 8 to 10 feet height 1800 square feet Consumed energy as much a small town need Only have a small memory

Focus was to reduce operator burden  Enable replace or reset vacuum tube quickly  Load stored program computer from tape easier than manually attached cables and setting switches. Computer operator could accomplish work that had previously required a team to finish it

Based on HCI research in university level and private company initiative  The introduction to hypertext technology (by Ted Nelson) in which traverse a link across the world with only a single click of mouse.  Interface improvement

Direct Manipulation of Graphical Object  Manipulation of visible object on the screen  Establishment of Sketchpad by Ivan Sutherland

The Mouse  Developed at Stanford Research Laboratory  Replacement of light pen (Sketchpad)  Douglas Engelbert Video Games  First graphical game ‘Spacewar’ by Slug Russell of MIT in 1962

Gesture Recognition  Interpreting human gesture via mathematical algorithms  Gestures can originate from any bodily motion or state but commonly originate from the face or hand  Current focuses in the field include emotion recognition from face and hand gesture recognition  Snapchat Snapchat

Natural Language and Speech  iPhone SIRI  Google Translate  Google Speech Virtual Reality  can be referred to as immersive multimedia  replicates an environment that simulates physical presence in places in the real world or imagined worlds and lets the user interact in that world  Virtual reality artificially creates sensory experiences, which can include sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste, and more.

A core technology platform, called g-speak™, enables applications to be developed that run across multiple screens and multiple devices.g-speak The use of g-speak is to solve big data problems, to collaborate more effectively, and to go from looking at pixels on a single screen to interacting with pixels on *every* screen. The transformation computing from a one person, one screen, one device experience into a fully shared and interactive experience. “We're the only company that brings together all your screens and all your devices into a multi-user, multi-device, multi-screen unified environment. We're also the only company to combine data presentation and analytics capabilities with collaboration capabilities, enabling you to turn big data into insight and intelligence.” – Oblong Industries, Inc -
