Denounce To condemn openly; to discredit Many people have denounced Obama- care
Depict To represent in words, pictures or sculpture. This painting depicts a scene from a WWII battle
Depreciate To lessen in value or in price Once you drive a new car off the lot, it depreciates in value.
Devout To be religious or sincere about something. Many of my students are very devout in their beliefs
Dexterity The skill in using the mind or body. Dexterity is necessary to become a good athlete.
Diligent To be very hard-working or adamant I expect all of you to be very diligent in your note taking during class.
Discreet To be cautious or prudent about something; to do something with little attention I tried to be very discreet when talking to the security guard about the potential shoplifter.
Discretion The use of good judgment. Many television shows advise viewer discretion.
Discriminate To make distinctions, often in a negative way; to deny someone of a right. Many cultures have been discriminated against throughout history.
Disperse To distribute widely; to disband from a group. The police told the crowd to disperse and go home.
