Most rocks are mixtures of minerals.

TWO TYPES OF ROCKS: 1.Monominerallic – made up of just one type of mineral. Ex: Rock salt : mineral is halite Ex: Limestone : mineral is calcite

2.Polyminerallic – a mixture of minerals Ex: Granite= quartz, feldspar, biotite, amphibole
