Vasco da Gama Vasco Da Gama learned to swim and fish when he was a young boy. In school he studied astronomy and navigation. He lived in Portugal. Vasco Da Gama helped his country because he traded with the east. He made Portugal rich and he established Portuguese trading ports. Vasco Da Gama was not nice to the people from Africa and India and he was known for being mean.

Christopher Columbus Christopher Columbus was born in 1451 in Genoa Italy. He was an explorer and spent most of his time at sea. He went on lots of dangerous journeys.
