Reflections about your teaching practice We all focused on vocabulary development Answering using a sentence Using more complex sentences with a conjunction We began to implement Colourful Semantics As teachers and leaders, what have you been doing differently in your classrooms and schools since attending CPOL?

But it was not a good idea because ______ Retell Edward and Edwina Emu Compare both stories. How are the same and how are they different? Compare Main Idea Big Picture Planning

Teaching practice continued… Weekly Planning (used a different colour in program) Made it fit in to what we were already doing. For example: Literacy/Oral Language Vocabulary Development LI To further develop and consolidate the children's vocabulary. Introduce the Hobyahs. No cover. What could it be about? Do we think they are ‘good characters or bad’ etc. What words might be in the story. Can we remember the words we have learnt from other stories. Lets use them in this story. (mischievous, stealthy as shadows, dangerous, evil, terrifying). Make a game of inserting the vocab and actions. Dramatise the story. Comp focus: Visualising. Draw the Hobyah. Act out vocab.

Now we are more familiar with the CPOL philosophies and ideas we plan to implement them with greater skill and confidence!!!! Planning for 2015
