History In 1977 Louisiana Legislature passed a law giving BESE the authority to develop an accountability system by which every public school in Louisiana would be graded.

History School Performance Score is a result of this law. Currently, high schools are awarded letter grades based on student achievement on the following: ACT (25%), End-of-Course tests (25%), Graduation index (25%) Graduate cohort rate (25%)

Definitions ACT & EOC Can be defined as a school’s ability to graduate students on time and how well the students were prepared for the post-secondary education.
