Post Partum IUCD Communication Campaign September 2011

PPIUCD Program Objective To assure women giving birth get an opportunity to immediately space the inter-generic period with a reversible long term method of contraception Partnership with NHTC and FHD Includes: –ToT –Training of service providers –PPIUCD communication campaign

PPIUCD Communication Campaign Communication Objective: –To generate positive awareness about post partum IUCD among ANC clients so that they are motivated to inquire about it with the counselor or service provider. Behavioral Objective: –Increased insertion of IUCDs among women right after child birth. Key Message –Getting an IUCD right after child birth is a convenient way to ensure spacing. To get more information about PPIUCD, consult your doctor.

Target Audience Primary Target Audience Pregnant WRA coming to health facilities for ANC check-ups Secondary Target Audience Counselors at birthing centers

Campaign Execution A campaign consisting of: –a) poster –b) flyer –c) tent card –d) brochure –e) job aids Campaign execution will be carried out in 15 birthing centers PSI/Nepal will place the IEC materials in birthing centers and counseling rooms
