Engineering Design Process Nyla Snowden EF2 2A December 6
Defining a Problem To design a catapult to launch a objects
Researching and Generating Ideas I will research how much wood to use to exceed the clay balls along the measurements
Identifying Criteria and Specifying Constraints
Exploring Possibilities I will explore different possibilities to perfect my catapult.
Selecting an Approach I will brainstorm ideas to make an effective catapult. I will sketch it first, then succeed in making the catapult.
Developing a Design Proposal I will use a specific kind of wood to make the catapult over a weeks time. Afterwards I will add wheels to make the catapult mobile.
Making a Model or Prototype My model and prototype was the same thing
Testing and Evaluating the Design using Specifications I was told to launch clay balls of 3g, 4g, and 5g to see how long they would go and record my results.
Refining the Design I didn’t have to refine my design because my prototype worked the first time with no problem.
Creating or Making it I made the catapult with wood, some nails, a spring, and a cup.
