How does shape contribute to dance? \Define shape Warm-up Plie, Tendue, Positions of the feet and arms Types of shapes Create a shape study: In pairs create an 8 move dance using shapes and transitions. A1 B2 A3 B4 A5 B6 accumulate your movement so that you don’t forget what you are doing. We will show these at the end of class.

How can you create a short dance phrase using shapes? Using the idea of shapes in small groups create a short dance phrase. The phrase should be at least 4 counts of 8 and not have any street dance or movements with names. Remember transitions get you from one shape to the next. Try not to have gender specific movements. Your dance should be in unison for two counts of 8 then it can vary. Move big with control and confidence. Positive and Negative shape in space
