Working at height has always been a hazardous business … Gravity had much the same strength in the 1930’s as it has now … Then, as now, limbs were just as prone to break in a fall vital organs to tear and crush … skulls - to crack … brains - to splatter … but you wouldn’t necessarily know it from the following pictures
