WELCOME SERICULTURE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT PRESENTATION DATED

HOW TO PRODUCE GOOD QUALITY OF COCOONS  QUALITY LEAF  QUALITY SEED  HEALTHY CHAWKI  EFFICIENT REARING MANAGEMENT

Quality Leaf Production  Cultural Operation as per crop schedule.  Use of compost, biofertilizer and chemical fertilizer as per soil condition  Use of slow releasing nitrogenous fertilizer should be preferred to avoid leaching.  Phosphatic fertilizer should be used for chawki plots.  To maintain nutrient quantity in leaf Nitrogen fertilizer should be used before 2 nd crop  Irrigation  Leaf plucking at Govt. farm & farmer level should be prepared.

Quality Seed  Efficient Management of P1 rearing  Sorting of cocoon's  Strict testing of larvae & moth

Healthy Chawki Rearing  Proper disinfection & hygiene  Proper incubation of silkworm egg's  Avoid sizing  Control of RH & temperature

Rearing Management  Assessment of available leaf  Proper disinfection of rearing house & rearing equipments  Hygiene condition of rearing houses  Proper spacing & timely clearing of silkworm bed  Use of bed disinfactant
