Health Insurance The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) A free card that gives you access to medically necessary, state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in any of the 28 EU countries, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. You get it from the health insurance institution where you are insured. You will receive treatment under the same conditions and at the same costs as people insured in that country. You can get more information if you download the APP European Health Insurance Card. Leksand municipality has also an accident insurance for all our students and staff during schooltime, including the travels to and from school.

Travel Insurance Example: Sweden At travels all our staff and students have a travel insurance from Leksand municipality. It covers the whole journey from home to home again, 24 hours a day. During the school trip, each student and staff receive a personal insurance card certifying that he is covered by the municipality's insurance.
