OSAP is based on family size, income, and number of dependents attending post secondary, and full-time or part-time status. The Ontario Student Opportunity Grant (OSOG) is available to help students reduce their annual debt. It limits the amount of the student loan that eligible students are required to repay $7,400 per two-term year of study (e.g., fall and winter) $11,100 for a three-term study year (e.g., fall, winter, summer) Will be indexed each year effective 2016/17 Determined after the completion of each study period within an academic year. The grant is applied directly to your outstanding loan amount. 14

The Ontario 30% off tuition grant was introduced in W’11 and increased participation in OSAP. OSAP grants and loans have increased 45% when compared to 2010/11 and the number of recipients increased 27%. In the same time frame enrolment increased 5% 16 38% of Guelph students are receiving OSAP

Each year the University is required to set aside a portion of the revenue from annual domestic tuition increases and make it available in the form of need based assistance. Policies outline how TSA can be allocated. 21

23 Students were completing financial arrangement to protect themselves until their OSAP funds were received. However, the majority of OSAP funding is received well in advance of the payment deadline date. Students who are not able to meet the payment deadline dates can apply for a financial arrangement to make payments throughout their current semester.
