objectives  To know what is social psychology and its influence on Behavioral dentistry.  To know what is economics and its influence on Behavioral dentistry.  To know what is political sciences and its influence on Behavioral dentistry.

Social Psychology  It deals with human nature and attitudes in general.

 It studies how and why perceptions, thoughts, opinions, attitudes and behavior vary in different groups and societies.

 Also studies the effect of social environment on individual psychology.

 Eg – the importance of maintaining the oral health in developed and developing countries.

Economics  It studies the economic aspects of the people.

 That is the three basic essentials for his living namely food, shelter and clothing.  Scarcity or excess of these are found to affect human behavior.

 Eg - Affordability of utilizing health services

Political Sciences  It deals with the constitution, the government and the laws of the state.  Which imposes some sort of discipline on mans movements and behavior.

 Eg 1– insurance,  Eg 2 - law prohibiting the use of products harmful to health like alcohol, tobacco etc.
