Songwriter Angelique Copeland

What is a songwriter A songwriter is an individual who writes songs. Although songwriters of the past commonly composed, arranged and played their own songs, more recently the pressure to produce popular hits has tended to distribute responsibility between a number of people.

There are two types of songwriters there are ones that write the song for artists or sell their lyric to artist to make money from it and the next type of songwriter is the one that write their own song and perform it to make money. Songwriters like that have it hard to make money because they have to find someone to produce the song

Name of other person/career who songwriters would work with Artist Record company Producer Specific companies

Types of songwriters Songwriters can perform a number of functions depending on career goals, ambition level, and specific talents. For example, a songwriter may simply write song lyrics and music, and then sell the completed song to a performing artist. This is common among pop music performers who often have more than one songwriter writing material for them behind the scenes. In this case, the songwriter has entered a commercial venture in which they are selling a product--their music--to a consumer.

Types of songwriters Another type of songwriter is the singer songwriter. He or she writes his or her own material, including lyrics and musical accompaniment, and performs it on his or her own. This job is perhaps one of the most difficult ones to become successful at, because even a good singer songwriter has no guarantee of success. To become a strong singer songwriter, one must be able to think creatively to come up with strong lyrics, and also play a musical instrument well enough to perform in front of an audience. This combination can prove difficult for many aspiring singer songwriters, but since formal training is not necessary for such a profession, anyone with a reasonable amount of drive and talent can attempt it.

What affect does being a songwriter effect other people jobs For some songwriter being a song writer means that the write the song n sell it to singer. Singer buy the song and sing it and make money off of it and 50% of the money that is made from that one song goes to the songwriter

Where does a songwriter works Songwriters often specialize in writing and composing music for one specific instrument or part of a song. They often work with a partner or in groups of 3 or 4 people with different talents to compile a piece of work to sell to an artist, record company or producer. Some songwriters work solely for specific artists or companies, while others work freelance and pitch their music compositions to whoever they can find. Some work simply by writing lyrics and depending on someone else to create the music and rhythm behind it, while others will create each detail to a song without the help of other artists.
