A. Care giver

As a caregiver, the nurse assesses the patient, analyzes his/her needs, develops nursing diagnoses, plans, delivers, evaluates nursing interventions and patient outcomes (apply nursing process). Nurse provide the holistic health care needs of the client. 5 a. Caregiver

Communicator

Nursing involves communication with clients and families, other nurses, health care team members and the community 7 b. Communicator

It refers to nurses should effectively facilitate the nurse-patient relationship and the dynamic interactions that occur before, during and after the nursing intervention 8 b. Communicator

Nurses who communicate effectively able to:- Collect better information about the client’s problem and implement better nursing care that promotes fast recovery, health and wellness Convey information verbally at change of shift. 9 b. Communicator

Being an educator is an important role for a nurses. It occurs through give health education to the patients, families and community with emphasis on health promotion and illness Prevention The nurse assesses learning needs, plans and implements teaching strategies to meet those needs, and evaluates the effectiveness of the teaching. 11 c. d. Client Advocate

Advocator refers that the nurse is responsible to defend on behalf of the patient, family and community. A nurse provides a safe environment to prevent injury to the clients. The nurse ensures the health, welfare, and safety of the patient. 13 d. Protector and Advocate

Counselor

As counselor, provides emotional, intellectual and psychological support. She helps a client to adapt with stressful psychological or social problems. 15 e. Counselor

Nurse helps the person to develop new attitudes, feeling & behaviors. 16 e. Counselor

Leader

Nurse often assumes the role of leader. Not all nurses have the ability and capacity to become a leader. Nurse should have the ability to innovate change, motivate, facilitate and guide others. 18 g. Leader

As a leader, the nurse influences the client to make decisions regarding health. 19 g. Leader

Manager

As a Manager, a nurse has the authority, power, and responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating and directing work of others. The nurse is responsible for setting goals, make decisions, and solve problems that the organization may encounter. 21 h. Manager

Nurse coordinates the activities of other health team members. The nurse delegates the nursing activities to other nurses and workers. 22 h. Manager

Researcher

The nurse takes part in nursing research through investigates problems in order to improve nursing care, develop a scientific basis for nursing practice and apply research findings to nursing practice. 24 j. Researcher

It refers to nurses effectively work within a healthcare team to achieve optimal patient care. Collaborator 25
