Antarctica VS The desert Justin Glover

The name of my habitat is Antarctica and it’s major features are, Antarctica is the coldest and driest continent on earth, it’s a large land mass buried under vast ice caps up to 6.5 miles thick, its total area is 7 million square miles in the summer and in the winter it doubles. Antarctica is the fifth largest continuant on earth. There is no haze in Antarctica due to the cold dry weather and the dust free air. At a high personal price things far away may seem close and you might see mirages. There is no native population but there is 4,000 people that live and study Antarctica.

The emperor and the rock hopper penguin The emperor and the rock hopper penguin both live in Antarctica but they have many differences and those differences are that the rock hopper penguin has this orange thing on its face and the emperor penguin doesn’t, the emperor penguin is 3 to 4 feet tall and the rock hopper penguin is 16 to 17 inches tall. And the emperor penguin is 100 pounds and the rock hopper penguin is 5 to 6 pounds. There adaptation is that they have fur to keep them warm in the cold. rock hopper emperor

Plants of Antarctica Some plants that are in Antarctica are moss and grass. The moss is located on the other side of the cold mountains and the grass is found on the same mountain as the moss. There adaptation of being in Antarctica is that they are on the warmer side and its food for the animals that live there. grass moss

The Sahara desert The Sahara desert is the largest desert in the world it is 3,250,000 square miles long. It covers almost all the African continent. In the west of the Sahara desert it is rocky with varied elevations. It has underground river which result in oases. It has more elevations in the central region than any other areas. The population of the Sahara desert is 2 million.

The sand cat and the scorpion The sand cat and the scorpion both live in the desert but they have many differences and those differences are that the sand cat has thick fur and the scorpion has a shell type skin. The sand cat has hair that covers its feet when it is walking on the hot surface and the scorpion has a long venomous tail. The sand cat and the scorpions adaption’s are that they have special thing to help them eat and to help them kill there food to eat. scorpion sand cat

Plants of the desert Some of the plants that are in the desert are the saguaro and the desert sage. Both the sage and the saguaro both live In the desert but the desert sage grows in high limestone content and the saguaro grows 50 arms and the saguaro provides shelter. The adaption’s they both share is that they are food for the animals and if they were gone all the animals would starve. saguaro desert sage
