What is Service Learning? Service Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities.

Benefits of Service Learning As a student of service learning it has gave me much knowledge academically, professionally, and personally.

Benefits of Service Learning Understanding of the classes Gain hands-on experience (possibly leading to an internship or job later) Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills Grow your understanding of your communities Improve your ability to handle uncertainty and be open to change Develop your skills in the areas of communication, collaboration, and leadership. My Community Service VSU Valentines Blood Drive South Pacific Golf Tournament Valdosta State University Golf Tournament

VSU Valentines Day Blood Drive The VSU Valentines Day Blood Drive was helped out by the football team each player had to get a total of 5 people to donate blood. To make the blood drive competitive the coaches put the offense against the defense to see who would have more donors.

What I Learned at South Georgia Classic At my community service learning at the South Georgia Classic I learned how helping out people is better in the long run. I learned that helping at the tournament really will benefit our Athletic Program at VSU.

What I Learned at VSU Valentines Day Blood Drive At the VSU Valentines Blood Drive I found out how supportive the Valdosta State Students were so, collaborated with Blood Drive and supported it.

My Experience I have learned many skills and lessons from my experience in my service learning program. I have learned skills on a professional level, academic level, and personal level. These skills I now use in my everyday life and will help me out now and when I get into my profession.
