INTEL TEACH PROGRAM Getting Started Course ACTION PLAN Ms. Avelina R. Raqueño School of Science and Technology Centro Escolar University Mendiola, Manila
LONG TERM GOAL Adopt Constructivism Teaching Approach to Enhance Students’ Appreciation of Mathematics
SHORT TERM GOALS Values student questions and interests Ask guide students to facilitate learning Consider varied/different materials to include manipulatives Encourage students to work in groups
INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES I will encourage my students to ask questions. I will ask more questions on how and why that will require them to think critically. I will give exercises which students can work in group. I will give assignments/exercises which will require them to use the internet.
SOLUTIONS TO ANTICIPATE CHALLENGES Students may have fears and shy of asking questions I will give motivations that will require them to ask questions.
SOLUTIONS TO ANTICIPATE CHALLENGES I will allow them at first to use Filipino language to explain the process. I will begin the discussion and let them continue by giving guide questions. Students may not be able to explain the process and hesitant in using the English language.
SOLUTIONS TO ANTICIPATE CHALLENGES Some of the members may not participate in the discussion I will give them number of problems equal to the number of members and would require each of them to explain their answers
SOLUTIONS TO ANTICIPATE CHALLENGES Some students may not have money to rent for a computer Encourage students to their research by group.
