3  Check for Track or park closures, planned burns  Check for Fire Ban status for the day  Do you need to cancel the walk?  Check expected temperatures for the day  Check expected rainfall for the day  Creek / river crossings 5.1 – The week prior to the Walk BWV Walk Leader Training Unit 5 – Conducting the Walk

4  Quick risk assessment  Do you need to modify the walk  Be early to meeting place  Mark off participants  Temporary members complete forms  Check participants have equipment and supplies 5.2 – On the Day of the Walk BWV Walk Leader Training Unit 5 – Conducting the Walk

11  Count to ensure that everyone is back  Check your walkers’ condition  Record details of any incident/accident with details of two witnesses  Thank everyone  Advise details of afternoon tea venue  Start all car engines and leave together 5.6 – At the End of the Walk BWV Walk Leader Training Unit 5 – Conducting the Walk
