MYSTERY WRITING PROPOSAL The Power Point on how I want YOUR powerpoint! By Mr. Otto

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?  Rather than making you write a writing piece and then finding out that you have a whole lot to change, you are going to make a PowerPoint proposal so I can be sure you are on the right track and we can give each other ideas!  You will present your ideas for your writing using the power point and then maybe we can show the class to see if anyone has ideas to help as well!

WHAT I EXPECT  I am going to show you exactly what I want on each slide and how many slides I would like your presentation to be!  You may add pictures, animations, sounds, transitions, or whatever else you would like to your presentation as long as you stay on task and follow directions!

FIRST SLIDE  I want you to write in big letter Mystery Writing Proposal  This slide should also have your name and the date!

SECOND SLIDE  I want you to write down the title of your story  You may add pictures to this slide

THIRD SLIDE  In full sentences I would like for you to describe the setting of the story!

FOURTH SLIDE  List of your characters and a brief description  Please Make Sure to Include: Detectives Suspects Victim(s) Criminal(s)

FIFTH SLIDE  Problem  I want to know what the problem of your story is  In almost all mystery stories the problem is the crime/mystery that needs to be solved

SIXTH SLIDE  Solution  In complete sentences I want to know how your mystery is solved  What is going to happen at the end of the story/ how do the detectives solve the case

SEVENTH SLIDE  Clues I want to know what clues the detectives find that helps them solve the case  There should be 2-3 clues. No less than 2 but no more than 3!

EIGHTH SLIDE  Conclusion slide
