Council Camp Briefing 29 th Students’ Council GM

Activity Updates

Name Game Checkpoints have been added to shorten the duration of the activity. There will be 2 checkpoints, with the entire batch broken up into 3 sections.

Beans Activity No major changes. More beans will be purchased to ensure that there are enough beans to form a visible “RAFFLES”

Whistle Activity No more ‘injured’ group. Idea will revert to the original one of a captured group being split up and the rest of the 30ths needing to account for them. To add to the confusion, station masters will now blow a random pattern once their station has been closed. The pattern should not sound too close to the ones already being blown.

Heaven and Hell Big lightsticks will be placed next to each puzzle piece so that elects will be able to find the pieces in the dark.

House Hike House D to follow the elects on the hike. House Hike should not be a break in tone from the camp. However, it should not be strict to the extent that no talking is allowed during the hike or stuff like that. If needed, House D are to conduct their own activities to try to let elects get to know each other better, etc.

House Hike BB: Paya Lebar Area BW: Mandai Area HH: Jalan Kayu Area MR: Hougang Area MT: Tanglin Area All routes are approximately 8km.

Other Matters

Code of Conduct Signing in and out is required when leaving the campsite. Always present a united front. Only CCICs or the activity ICs are allowed to carry out physical punishment. Shoes are to be worn at all times. Greet teachers. Handphones can only be used in the rest area if not for camp purposes. No wandering around the campsite.

Role of 29ths Good role models to the 30 th elects. Take care of buddy, where possible. Provide manpower and aid.

Manpower Details 29ths have to be present for the entire duration of Council Camp. Main areas of involvement include: Bag Check/Roll Call Demonstration Clear up for beans activity House Hike Department Activities Station masters for Whistle Activity Physical Reflections/The Calling Present for Heaven and Hell Facilitation

Manpower Details 29ths who are free may choose to do whatever they want (e.g. Study, Chat with other 29ths, etc) but may not be seen wandering outside the designated areas. When not scheduled down for a duty, 29ths may choose to observe the ongoing activity. No interference is to be made in the activity. Observers need to maintain discipline. Be on standby in the case where CCICs need your urgent help. Please also be ready to help with set-up for the next activity if the need arises.

Roll Call Roll call demonstration will be on the evening of the first day of camp. Everyone to familiarize yourself with roll call procedure. Exactly who will be absent and for what reasons will be sent out once attendance is compiled.

Camp Attire 30 th elects will be wearing official PE attire throughout the duration of the camp. CCICs will be wearing 2009 MS Shirt on Friday and 2010 MS Shirt on Saturday. 29ths will be wearing O’Tiero shirt on Friday and House T-Shirt on Saturday. All 29ths will be wearing the 29 th shirt on Sunday.

Psychometric Test Those with psychometric test on Saturday (170410), you have the option of not being involved in Council Camp until after your test. If you choose to come for Council Camp before your test, you are definitely not obliged to stay over on the first night. (Highly not recommended)

Attendance Absence from Council Camp will only be allowed with a valid reason (e.g. Competitions, H3 exam, Psychometric Test, etc) For all those with known commitments, please them to Jerome by Saturday, 9pm. Please include: Type of Commitment Date/Time (Leaving) Date/Time (Returning)

Buddy System Buddy List will be released by next Wednesday. Please make the effort and take the initiative to get to know your buddy well before Council Camp. This is important as there is very limited buddy time during the camp. Do not reveal to your buddy what the camp will be like.

Facilitators Facilitators chosen on a sign-up basis. All interested please meet Aaron Tiong after GM. By the time I send this, please him by Sunday night, 8pm.

The End. Council Camp in 8 Days!!
