Simulationssystem können in zwei Konfigurationen angeboten werden: Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL): Bedien- und Beobachtungsebene Hierbei wird das original SCADA/DCS-System oder eine 1:1-Kopie verwendet Steuerungsebene Hier werden reale Steuerungen verwendet (aktuell SIMATIC-S7 3xx und 4xx), Orignalsystem oder 1:1-Kopie Feldebene Die Signalwerte werden in der Simulation (SIMIT) erzeugt/errechnet. Die Ausgabe auf die Bussysteme erfolgt über eine Interface Box (SIMBA). Diese wird mit dem Simulations-PC verbunden und wird direkt auf den Busstecker der Steuerung gesteckt und simuliert das Verhalten der Feldgeräte am Bussystem (z.B. Telegramme). Prozessebene Das Prozessverhalten wird in SIMIT modelliert. Bei hochkomplexen Modellen kann SIMIT mit einem 3-rd party-Produkt in Co-Simulation betrieben werden (z.B. Spezialsimulatoren in der Chemie von Aspen und Honeywell) Software-in-the-loop (SIL): Bedien- und Beobachtungsebene: Identisch zu Hardware-in-the-loop Steuerungsebene Steuerungen (3xx und 4xx) werden als Software auf einem Windows-PC in der Emulation Plattform emuliert. Feldebene Bussysteme und Feldgeräteebene werden ebenfalls in der Emulation Plattform emuliert. Die Signalwerte werden in der Simulation (SIMIT) erzeugt/errechnet. Identisch zu Hardware-in-the-loop.
