Achieving Success Our Performance Pathway from the Swimming Academies to International level needs to improve:  More space required for the Junior Squads  Pathway must be progressive  Greater emphasis on education and learning  Coaching roles and responsibilities  Club Night required to build the Club identity and ethos  Membership growth is vital for sustainability and success  Better links with our strategic partners

Achieving Success The timetable will switch from a 2 tier structure to a 3 tier structure. The Club will consist of 4 distinct programmes: JuniorDevelopmentPerformanceAction

Achieving Success JUNIOR PROGRAMME  Academies – deliver the Fundamentals  Junior Gold & Junior Silver Squads The coaching emphasis is on skill development, basic training skills and personal responsibility. 12 lanes short course 3 progressing to 4 workouts per week 2 dryland workouts per week

Achieving Success DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME  Development A & B Squads Swimmers that have the skill set and commitment will be invited to graduate to the Development Programme. There is further emphasis on developing complex training skills so that the swimmers learn to train effectively. The biological emphasis is on developing the swimmers aerobic and anaerobic capacities, basic strength and athleticism. 12 lanes short course 5 progressing to 8 workouts per week 3 dryland workouts per week

There is further emphasis on developing complex training and racing skills so that the athletes learn to race and win effectively. The biological emphasis is on developing the aerobic and anaerobic powers, maximum strength and athleticism. 12 lanes short course 8 progressing to 10 workouts per week dryland workouts per week

Achieving Success ACTION PROGRAMME Dynamo Squad (previously the Club Squad), Masters, Water Polo and Diving The Action Programme allows swimmers to stay in the Club whilst keeping active, developing new skills and maintaining friendships. Swimmers are also encouraged to develop their personal skills by being involved as poolside helpers, teaching, officiating etc.
