TRIAL WORKSHOP - NOVARA 6TH NOVEMBER 2013 A NEW PROJECT On this base and in collaboration with the Western Piedmont University, the Province presented a new project, under a call of DG HOME, related to the prevention of terrorist and criminal attacks to chemical supply chains. It is called TRIAL.

TRIAL WORKSHOP - NOVARA 6TH NOVEMBER 2013 TRIAL - 1 Threat identification and assessment against chemical supply chain (TRIAL) is financed by ISEC program and has a budget of 322, The Province is the lead partner and the other partners are research private firms from Italy, France, Spain and Germany.

TRIAL WORKSHOP - NOVARA 6TH NOVEMBER 2013 TRIAL - 2 The main objective of TRIAL is the development of a knowledge management system aimed to prevent threats to chemical goods supply chain (production, storage, transportation).

TRIAL WORKSHOP - NOVARA 6TH NOVEMBER 2013 ACTIONS TRIAL will develop the following relevant activities: -identification of requirements for a knowledge system devoted to vulnerabilities and threats -design of a new tool for threat identification; -case studies and a consequent feasibility study for the delivery of a new operational prototype of a tool of threat identification -recommendations to competent authorities to adopt a new and better knowledge system.

TRIAL WORKSHOP - NOVARA 6TH NOVEMBER 2013 RESULTS The project has the following objectives: - Requirements for threat identification and elaboration of a new tool aimed to reach this result; - An evaluation of the impact and of the possible implementation of the new tool through local and feasibility studies; - Recommendations to competent authorities and decision support.

TRIAL WORKSHOP - NOVARA 6TH NOVEMBER 2013 NETWORK INVOLVEMENT The project has also the objective to involve other networks and actors and to open with them a discussion aimed at improving and implementing the project results as well as assuring the continuation of the activities. The European Chemical Regions Network (ECRN) is explicitly mentioned as the main network to be involved.
