By: Madelyn Kappers Plate Plate~ a large section of the lithosphere that reacts to tectonic forces as a unit and moves as such.
Alfred Wegener Alfred Wegener originated the theory of Pangaea Being a German Scientist geophysicist, and meteorologists all helped him with his discovery.
He originated the theory in autumn of In the Library at his University astronomy/planets/earth/Continents.shtml
The Pangaea theory~ that states were all once together as one known as a 'supercontinent' called a Pangaea. gov/learn/plate2.htm
No it was not accepted because the actual forces generated by the rotation of the earth were calculated to be insufficient to move continents. my/planets/earth/Continents.shtml
Arthur Holmes and Harry Hess both assisted on the recognition of Wegner`s theory. They related by based on mantle convection currents, now known as "sea floor spreading". the idea that the mantle undergoes thermal convection.
A major geologic suture marking the juncture of lithospheric plates that were joined by plate tectonics. Earthquakes Earthquakes and volcanoes can form ics/description_plate_tectonics.html
An example of a continental- oceanic subduction zone is the area along the western coast of South America where the oceanic Nazca Plate is being subducted beneath the continental South American Plate. ctonics/description_plate_tectonics.html
Divergent Boundaries are locations where plates are moving away from each other. Volcanoes It would happen to Volcanoes mostly. Mountains~ This mostly forms volcanic islands. And Mountains~ natural elevations of the earth's surface rising more or less abruptly to a summit, and attaining an altitude greater than that of a hill /description_plate_tectonics.html
Transform Boundary Transform Boundary~ location where two plates slide past each other. Example is that the Pacific pate and the North American Plate side by each other. They create large earthquakes and Fault lines. /description_plate_tectonics.html
We were on the North American Plate
The Caribbean Plate, the Juan De Fuca Plate, the Cocos Plate, the Pacific Plate, the Eurasian Plate, the African Plate, the South American Plate, and the Nazca Plate. Boundary~ Boundary~ something that indicates bounds or limits

I don’t think that we are in any danger because there has been over 200 Earthquakes since 1776 and not a lot of them were bad. The Past 15 that we have had only injured a couple of people. survey/html/geo_f03/tabid/830 7/Default.aspx
Maybe all of the plates would form as one and create a HUGE Earthquake the can destroy all of man kind.
Trench~ Trench~ a deep furrow, ditch, or cut. Landslide~ Landslide~ Downward falling or sliding of a mass of soil, detritus, or rock on or from a steep slope. Mudslide~ Mudslide~ the rapid downward movement of a large quantity of saturated earth
Volcano!!! Volcano!!! Map of the USA!!! Aftermath of an earthquake!!!!!!! Mountain!!
After a landslide After a Mudslide Trench in the Ocean
