The NSE 50 index was launch by National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. It is the largest & high liquid stock in India. The base period for NSE 50 was 3 rd November, NSE 50 was later renamed as S&P CNX Nifty.
The S&P CNX Nifty is managed by IISL. Which is a joint venture between NSE & Crisil. IISL is the first specialized co. focus on the index as a core point. IISL has licensing & marketing agreement with S&P for co-branding IISL equity share.
S&P CNX Nifty includes 50 companies listed on NSE & represent about 60% of the total market capitalization of NSE. The base value of the index has been set at 1000.
