My Favorite Art By: Sarah Angeloff Period 5

Information about the Painting Title: View of Toledo Artist: El Greco Date of Composition: c Artistic Era: Baroque

Why I like this painting This looks like a quaint village sitting on a mountain top. I like this painting because its very picturesque and three dimensional. The sky is painted to look like a storm is breaking up and the sun is coming through. This gives the painting realistic movement of the clouds. I would like to visit a Spanish town like this someday.

Information about the Painting Title: Portrait of a Lady in Blue Artist: Raimundo de Madrazo Date of Composition: c.1841 Artistic Era: Romanticism

Why I like this painting This painting displays multiple shades of blue which stand out from the background. I like how her black scarf seems as if its actually fluffy against her dress. I also like the brush strokes on the water color. As you view the woman in the painting you are curious about what she is looking at.

Information about the Painting Title: Viva la Vida Artist: Frida Kahlo Date of Composition: c.1954 Artistic Era: Modern

Why I like this painting I like this painting because its rich sense of bright colors is eye catching. The watermelons are accurately shaped and cut which makes this painting very unique. The way the melons are clustered is appealing to look at. Also, watermelon is my favorite fruit so this picture makes me want to go eat a juicy, ripe slice of watermelon.
