Media: The “mirrors” and “molders” of public opinion! Bias: When one allows his/her values to affect his/her opinions.
Propaganda: Information intended to persuade public opinion.
Demographics: Data regarding specific populations sharing common characteristics—age, race, gender, income, education. Incumbent: A person running for office who already holds the office (the INcumbent is IN office). Challenger: A person running against the incumbent.
Political Action Committees (PACs): Groups that raise and distribute money to candidates who will further their goals. Federal Election Commission (FEC): Regulates campaign finance (money in elections) Lobbyists: People who pressure legislators and influence the legislative process. Special Interest Groups: Groups with a special interest.
