Attendance, Homework, and Grading

Attendance Policy  Please let me know in advance if you are planning on being out and for how long (at least a week in advance)  Students that will be absent will have as many days as they are out to make up work. (ex. Student is absent for 2 days, they will have 2 days to make up the work.)  In most cases if a student is absent for an extended period, he or she will be excused from some (but not all) of the work for that week.  Tardy bell is at 8:30!!!  Breakfast is served at 7:30-8:15 ONLY

Work Requirements  Students are required to put their first and last names- as well as the date on each paper.  No Name papers will be hung in the back of the room. If a paper is not claimed within a week, it will be thrown out.  Make up work will be sent home after an absence.  If your student received less than 60% on a paper, they may correct it within that quarter for partial credit.

Homework  Homework packets will go home every Monday.  Students must complete at least two pages nightly- these will be checked each morning but will not be collected or graded at that time  Packets are due on Friday morning.  Students who have not completed this will miss Fun Friday.

Grades  Grades reflecting your child’s progress will be entered weekly into FamilyLink. (Look on our class blog for the direct link) You may access the system from home via the internet.  If you do not already have a log-in, I strongly suggest contacting the office to obtain access.
