Today is Tuesday, October 6, 2015  You will need your: ◦ Writing utensil ◦ Planner and ◦ Language Arts journal ◦ SpringBoard book Announcements: Today is Advisory. Who was absent? Check the box. A few of you are missing yellow slips and rubrics

Please write this learning target in your planner: Learning Target  I will plan my independent reading. Practice Activities  I will enter a new vocabulary word in my glossary.  I will finish writing a frame poem.  I will learn more about semi-colons.  I will write down my book title and Lexile score and then read quietly. Success Criteria  I will have a new word in my glossary.  I will have read in my personal reading book.

I will learn about the concept (idea) of change. And turn to page 9. In lesson 1.2 we will enter the word diction and read the definition of semi-colon.

 Expectation : Read at home minutes per day, 5-7 days per week.  Purpose : Reading practice to improve reading skills at your individual reading level.  Weekly Assignment : You will be asked to write about the book you are reading, applying what skills and knowledge we are working on in your SpringBoard book. For example, we are working on conflict, genre, and point of view, so next Wednesday you could be asked to write about any or all of those about the book you are reading. Next time you might write about characterization in your book.

1. Turn to page 10 and skip down to #6 2. Write down the book title. 3. Go to the computer and find the Lexile score and write that number down on the paper. 4. Start reading quietly. 5. Mr. Morgan will check your SRI score against your personal reading book score and give you a personal reading plan grade.

Learning Target  I planned my independent reading. Homework None Exit Task  On a half sheet of paper write down.
